The Archdiocese of Dubuque invites parishes to have a volunteer NFP Ambassador who can be a resource for the local community to share the message of NFP and Church teaching related to fertility awareness. While trained NFP Ambassadors are not instructors for how to use an NFP method, they can provide introductory presentations on NFP, be a go-to resource for parish leadership to help share NFP, and answer questions about NFP for those wanting to learn more (e.g. engaged couples, married couples, teenagers and young adults, and parents). Online training to be certified as an NFP Ambassador is provided by Pearl and Thistle (www.pearlandthistle.com), an organization that provides cycle awareness and NFP education for Catholics of all ages and stages. The training includes about three hours of self-paced online videos. It provides a certification course to give people all the background information needed to serve as an NFP Ambassador in their parish. In essence, NFP Ambassadors are equipped to SHARE, SUPPORT, and SPREAD THE WORD about NFP in a way that authentically uses their own gifts to serve the unique needs of their community.
The cost for the training is $147. If you meet the following qualifications, you can apply for 100% funding from the Archdiocese of Dubuque's NFP Training Scholarship fund. Please review the qualifications and submit the online Scholarship Application, along with having your pastor send a recommendation email to confirm his support.
